چکیده

Vortex lattice melting theories as example of science fiction. Abstract It is shown that the popular conception of the vortex lattice melting have appeared in consequence of a incorrect notion about the Abrikosov state and incorrect definition of the phase coherence. The famous Abrikosov solution gives qualitatively incorrect result. The transition into the Abrikosov state must be first order in ideal (without disorder) superconductor. Such sharp transition is observed in bulk superconductors with weak disorder below Hc2. No experimental evidence of the vortex lattice melting exists now. The absence of the sharp transition in thin films with weak disorder is interpreted as absence of long-rang phase coherence down to very low magnetic field. The observed smooth phase coherence appearance in superconductors with strong disorder is explained by increasing of the effective dimensionality. It is proposed to return to the Mendelssohn model for the explanation of the resistive properties of superconductors with strong disorder. It is conjectured that the Abrikosov state is not the vortex lattice with the crystalline long-rang order.

Why Vortex Lattice Melting Theory is Science Fiction

The distinguished work by A.A. Abrikosov awarded of the Nobel Prize in Physics for 2003 not only has determined the orientation of all investigations of the mixed state of type II superconductors during forty years but also has provoked a mass delusion. Most scientists consider the Abrikosov state first of all as a vortex lattice. But Abrikosov has found a periodic lattice structure with crysta...

Evaluation of 2-D Aeroelastic Models Based on Indicial Aerodynamic Theory and Vortex Lattice Method in Flutter and Gust Response Determination

Two 2-D aeroelastic models are presented here to determine instability boundary (flutter speed) and gust response of a typical section airfoil with degrees of freedom in pitch and plunge directions. To build these 2-D aeroelastic models, two different aerodynamic theories including Indicial Aerodynamic Theory and Vortex Lattice Method (VLM) have been employed. Also, a 3-D aeroelastic framework ...

First order melting of vortex lattice in strongly type-II three dimensional superconductors

We calculate the transition line of the first-order melting of vortex lattice in a three-dimensional type-II superconductor in fields of several Tesla, using the results from the density-functional theory of vortex melting in two-dimensions and a self-consistent Hartree treatment of correlations along the field. The result is in quantitative agreement with experiment. The temperature width of t...

Viscoelasticity and surface tension at the defect-induced first-order melting transition of a vortex lattice

We show that thermally activated interstitial and vacancy defects can lead to first-order melting of a vortex lattice. We obtain good agreement with experimentally measured melting curve, latent heat, and magnetization jumps for YBa2Cu3O72d and Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8. The shear modulus of the vortex liquid is frequency dependent and crosses over from zero at low frequencies to a finite value at high fre...

“universal” Resistance Jump of Vortices at the Melting Transition

The subject of vortex dynamics in high Tc superconductors is of topical interest [1,2]. In recent years, new aspects of the phase diagram of the vortex lattice have been elucidated through experiment. Perhaps one of the salient recent experimental findings is the first order melting transition of the vortex lattice, first observed in transport measurements [3] and later confirmed in a number of...
